recruitment prep 101

School’s out, but your Recruitment Squad is in business mode! Summer break turns into full-time preparation for the upcoming Fall— promo items, tote bags, room decor, budgets, idea planning, and of course, apparel, are some of the few stressors of what should be your summer solstice. Whether you’re a local client or outside of Arizona (lucky you, with our upcoming heat wave), we make sure you receive the reassurance, guidance, and strategy necessary to tackle your Fall Recruitment Package– one item at a time. We’ve got this!

Before entering the Ali & Ariel meeting room, or hitting “submit” on a recruitment package custom order form, here’s how to fully prepare for the next steps. The best is yet to come!!

1. Ask your girls!
So, you are the designated Apparel Chair, Recruitment Officer, or Marketing Coordinator. Your girls count on you! They have chosen you to represent their brand, the sorority as a whole— and you should know it like the back of your hand. What do they love? What are some of the major trends you see in chapter meetings? What are the concepts and morals that your organization values? Maybe even consider doing a chapter-wide survey to get a better feel for what they would like to see in the upcoming Recruitment apparel! You can never be TOO prepared, and they will appreciate your effort to understand their personal style and opinion. You are representing them— the culmination of sisterhood and leadership.

2. Find your inspiration.
We want to know YOU and the sorority behind your solo representation! Each chapter at every university is different, and we make it our goal to understand the vision you have in mind. Come to the meeting or enter the email discussion prepared with designs, ideas, or questions. You don’t need to have your entire Recruitment Package figured out, that’s what we are here for! But in order to truly know you, our stylists need as much information as possible about the designs you love, what inspires you, and the look you want. We can’t wait to get our hands on your ideas— it’s our job to provide creative input and set you up for success in the upcoming Recruitment season. But we need your help and a place to start! A few great places to find design inspiration are Pinterest, Tumblr, or brands that you love— send your stylist any images or fonts that you love! We can take it from there. 🙂

3. Speak Up.
Our office is filled with plenty of alumni graduates from a range of different sororities— we understand that each organization runs on a different set of bylaws. There are plenty of factors that impact the creative process such as budget issues, advisors’ input, or time and deadline restraints. Some of these factors are outside of your control, and that’s okay! We get it! Speak up and be honest about your chapter’s needs, the changes required, or the anything you’d like to adjust! Communicate to us what your ideal situation looks like, and we promise to do everything we can to get you there.

And that’s it! Not so bad, right? Remembering these tidbits will set you up for your best Recruitment yet! Creating your chapter’s Recruitment Package is NOT scary or stressful— it’s a great opportunity to make a statement and be a part of watching your brand come to life. Show us what you love and who you are— we promise to do the same. We won’t let you fail! We are here for you every step of the way. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your Recruitment process.

Welcome to the Ali & Ariel Sisterhood!
